WHAT WE DO

Ohio Combat Veterans serves the men and women of Ohio who have deployed to combat zones in support of the Global War on Terror. We provide social outlet opportunities and resource guidance for veterans of Operations Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom.

Our goal is to help make a veterans` transition back to civilian life after combat as stress-free as possible by focusing on three primary areas:

 - Reducing veterans feelings of isolation, loneliness, and depression                                   - Lowering the rates of alcoholism and drug abuse/addiction among veterans                       - Raising veterans awareness of government benefits and access to those benefits

kEeping active, staying connected

We offer free social functions, where veterans can gather to meet other veterans and stay active. Some of our events include: mixers, rock climbing, monthly runs, and kayaking.

navigating the bureaucracy

There are many benefits and services available to veterans, but navigating the bureaucracy of the government can be daunting. We offer assistance in locating and utilizing government resources. We also help veterans put a positive foot forward toward building their civilian careers, including advice about filling out and filing applications for employment and benefits. Additionally, we connect veterans to classes on financial and credit management, resume writing, and healthy living.
